A herb garden is incomplete without herbs like basil, mint, oregano and chives. In addition to cooking, these plants can be used in making herbal vinegar, a mineral-rich vinegar. Alternatively, you can use the herbs to make tinctures and perfumes for your home.

A planterbox allows you to grow herbs anywhere you like. An herb container can be used on a kitchen island or counter. It takes only 10 minutes for assembly. For different herbs, you can use the same container. This allows you to switch up the appearance of your garden whenever and wherever you like. This makes it easy to move it around from one place into another.

Container herb gardens are another great idea for small spaces. Container herb gardens look great on a deck or balcony, and they don't take much time to grow. You will need a large pot, some soil, as well as some plants. You can either use plant liners, or reuse an old tin can. Be sure to label the containers with the herb names. These are great garden ideas for apartment balconies and smaller spaces.

Despite their popularity herb cultivation is relatively simple. The herbs require very little space, unlike other plants. For herbs to be grown, you don’t even have to have a garden. A balcony, windowsill, wall or window is all good locations for your herb garden. And if you're short on space, you can always put some pots indoors. You can enjoy fresh herbs whenever you like.

You can display your balcony herb garden ideas in a fashionable way. For example, a wooden planter box mounted on the wall will add beauty to any space. Mounting a variety of pots in different heights is another option. An easy way to display your herbs is by turning a pallet into an ornamental hanging herb garden. These planters save space and are also very affordable. A wooden pallet with a label of the herb name attached to it will add to the display. Hanging herb plants are a great way for herbs to look better.

It's also possible to create a tabletop herb gardening garden to spice up your life. It is simple to grow herbs in a small container or potted garden. You can also create mosaic effects by growing different kinds of herbs. You just need to water the roots. They can grow in almost any area, even partial shade. How To

Organic fertilizers to be used in the garden

Organic fertilizers include manure (compost), fish emulsions, seaweed extracts, blood meal, and compost. Organic fertilizers are made from non-synthetic materials. Synthetic fertilizers are chemical compounds used in industrial processes. They are often used in agriculture since they provide nutrients to plants efficiently and quickly, without the need of complicated preparation. Synthetic fertilizers are dangerous for the environment as well as human health. Synthetic fertilizers require large amounts of energy as well as water to be produced. Due to runoff, synthetic fertilizers can pollute both groundwater as well as surface waters. This pollution is detrimental to humans and wildlife alike.

There are many types of organic fertilizers.

* Manure is a product of livestock eating nitrogen-rich food (a plant nutrient). It contains bacteria, enzymes, and other substances that break down the waste into simple compounds which can be easily absorbed by plants.

* Compost is a mixture from vegetable scraps, grass clippings and decaying leaves. It is rich for nitrogen, carbon, potassium and magnesium. It is extremely porous and holds water well.

* Fish Emulsion - a liquid product derived from fish oil. It dissolves fats and oils in a similar way to soap. It contains phosphorous, nitrogen, and trace elements.

* Seaweed Extract - a concentrated solution of minerals extracted from kelp, red algae, brown algae, and green algae. It contains vitamins A and C, iron, and Iodine.

* Guano is the excrement of seabirds and bats. It contains nitrogen, sulfur, chloride and carbon.

* Blood Meal - The remains of animals slaughtered. It's rich in protein and can be used to feed poultry and other animals. It also contains trace mineral, phosphorus as well as potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus.

For organic fertilizer mix equal amounts of manure, compost and/or fishemulsion. Mix thoroughly. If you don’t possess all three ingredients you can substitute one for the other. For example, you could mix 1 part of the fishemulsion with 2 parts of compost if only you have access to fish emulsion.

Use a shovel to evenly distribute the fertilizer over the soil. The fertilizer should be about 1/4 cup per square foot. You will need to add more fertilizer every two weeks until you see signs of new growth.
